BFA 'local' heats, 2012/2013 dates announced
You may recall our article in the December issue last year in which we reported of the makeover that our Hub meetings have received. For the last four years the BFA’s Regional Meetings (Hubs) operated on a simple formula, florists meet after work for a natter and network together to catch up on the latest happenings in the industry. Watch a floristry demonstration for some informative and profitable design tips over a light buffet style meal. We have chosen to build on the success of these meetings and have decided to take them to the next level.
Tracy Tomlinson, Regional Development Director at the BFA has not wasted any time since being given the task of looking after the Regional Meetings back in December and has immersed herself in her new role. She says: “The hubs have proven to be a big hit with the florists and we have learned a lot in the last 4 years from the feedback we have received. I think the new name (BFA ‘local’) will mean more to a florist in the regions across the UK as the Regional meeting is a’local’ event after all. Some meetings will continue to be an evening event whilst some others will be on a Sunday. We will be bringing a mini trade fair to your region where anything floral is at the forefront of the agenda.Live floristry demonstrations by a leading designer, sound business advice from the BFA Skills Academy team, Floristry competitions such as the ‘RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year’ and opportunities for you to meet our corporate and patron members to find out about the money saving affinity schemes they have on offer to help you succeed in business in these challenging times.”
The BFA is very proud to announce that Country Baskets are returning as main sponsors for the next round of BFA ‘local’ events. Each of their 8 warehouses across the UK will be hosting one of the regional meetings. Chrysal UK will be providing the demonstrator at the meetings.
Like last year, the attendance to the BFA ’local’ events will be totally FREE so you’d be mad to miss out!
