The world famous Chelsea Flower show is the beating heart of the flower world, showcasing the very best designers the world has to offer.

Without doubt Chelsea Flower Show is one of the world most prestigious floriculture events which the BFA are proud to be a part of, we have a great relationship with the RHS, each year we organise‘The Chelsea Florist of the Year Competition’ and ‘The Chelsea Young Florist of the Year Competition’  

Running since 2009 the competitions which is held in the heart of the show in the bustling Grand Pavillion.   This is hugely popular with visitors, crowds swarm around the 16 competition pieces mesmerised by the designs created, this is a true show case for not only UK talented designers but for all florist across the country as the BFA brand is publicised to the world. 

RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an internationally renowned showcase of horticultural excellence, the show is always a sell-out, with 161,000 paying visitors attending over the five-day of the show, the show is also known as the place to display innovation in the perfect place to promote British Florists.

The competitions are held in two sessions the first staged Sunday and there for Monday – The press day and the Royal visits through to Wednesday Evening, when the second session comes in and stages their designs on display from Thursday until the end of the show on Saturday evening.

Away from the show the non-visiting flower lovers embrase the show through all the media coverage – The show is guaranteed evening and daytime television coverage by the BBC, over 15 hours of BBC Coverage alone which reaches an average of 2.2 million viewers, but beyond the Beeb there is also a great deal of National, regional and overseas TV and radio coverage.  Articles in national press, plus online coverage.  More than 1,000 journalists, photographers and programme makers attend the show.  The show pages of the RHS website attract around 250,000 visitors during the show week.  The BFA have appeared within every form of the media coverage.

The royal family are regular visitors to the show, her majesty the Queen came to our BFA stand during her royal visit in 2014 and commented on the work created by the competitors: “What beautiful pieces of work, some look like real chandeliers. The makers of these are true craftsmen”.
