UK Floristry Judges Guild - British Florist Association

UK Floristry Judges Guild

Affiliated to the British Florist Association the Guild was established in 2009. The UK Floristry Judges Guild is an organisation of professionally trained floristry judges and its primary function is to standardise judging at floristry competitions throughout the UK, maintaining excellence in floristry skills and competition work.

CPD

Each Judge must complete yearly continuous professional development activities (CPD) to remain a Guild member. This includes attending demonstrations, workshops, art exhibitions, national and international competitions and the Judges Study Day and AGM. Every 3 years each judge must have gained enough CPD points to remain a member, proving that they are up to date and an active member of the community.

TRAINING

Judges training is a rigorous programme of training over 18 months to 2 years, including attendance at study weekends, principles of design, rules on competitions and the process, shadow judging at competitions around the UK and a final examination.

If you want to know the latest news about judges training days go to https://www.floristryjudgesguild.co.uk/train-to-be-a-judge.htm

As well as training new judges they will also run courses for budding competitors. The training will be a one day course, held at different colleges and locations throughout the country. It is a full day course hoping to demystify what competitions are all about, explaining how to interpret the schedule, where to get your inspiration from and how the designs are judged.
