BFA Training & Education supports floristry education, skills and professional development, helping teaching providers stay connected with the wider industry.
BFA Training School Membership is designed for smaller independent floristry education providers, typically in the private sector and not subject to Ofsted inspection. Membership gives providers a recognised connection to the BFA, access to industry and member resources, and the opportunity for agreed courses to count towards Institute of Professional Florists (IPF) continuing professional development (CPD).
If you are considering Training School Membership, you can review the current benefits and costs or contact the BFA membership team to discuss whether this is the right route for your school.
Current Training School members
Our current Training School members offer different routes into professional floristry, from classroom-based career change and advanced skills to flexible online learning.
British Academy of Floral Art
Exeter, Devon – classroom and online learning
Based just outside Exeter, the Academy offers career-entry floristry training, including its six-week Career Changer pathway, alongside professional and specialist short courses for florists developing their skills further.
Its training combines practical floral design with the commercial side of floristry, with selected courses also covering business development, mentoring and portfolio support.
Kay’s Flower School
Online professional floristry training – available to UK and overseas students
Kay’s offers structured online professional floristry programmes, including four certificate modules that take students from core commercial floristry skills into more advanced practical work.
Alongside design techniques, the programmes cover practical business skills such as flower buying, costing, pricing and client consultation. UK students can train remotely with tutor support and guidance on sourcing fresh flowers locally.
