Planning your wedding flowers

This part of your wedding planning can be a real pleasure…however, it may at first seem a little daunting, especially if you’re not very familiar with flowers. Whilst your chosen wedding florist can help you through the whole planning process there are some things you can do to start the ball rolling.

Flowers can set the scene for the day unlike any other part of your wedding, they can tell a story of how you want your day to feel and express you and your partner’s personalities.

Start taking a look at images in wedding magazines, and marking the ones you like, or start a Pinterest board with what catches your eye. This is very useful information to your florist – don’t feel that you need to choose specific flowers or even designs.

A collection of ideas of what you like will help your florist make suggestions and create wedding flowers that are tailor made and perfect for you. There will be a number of things that your florist will take into consideration. These will include your wedding dress, height, frame size, the venue, numbers of designs required, and budget.

If you need guidance on what to budget for your wedding flowers take a look at ‘What budget should I allow for my wedding flowers‘ although if you do select a large proportion of the items listed below you’ll need to allow a bigger budget!

Your BFA wedding florist will take you through all the items that you may need but below we have created a list to help you structure your requirements.
