
Based in the east of Manchester, Tameside College offers a creative and inspiring environment to study floristry. Our highly skilled team, which includes lecturer Sam Cook N.D.S.F, I.C.S.F, FdA, IOPF, who brings over 25 years of teaching experience across all levels from one to six. Sam, who was awarded the BFA Tutor of the Year for her outstanding contribution to teaching, leads a department recognised for its professionalism and success. Many former students of Sam have achieved success, achieving numerous RHS medals, including the prestigious Chelsea Florist of the Year.
The team also includes Gema Vickers, who has a wealth of industry experience and knowledge spanning over 25 years, Gema, who spent 10 years working for award winning florist Neil whittaker and 5 years working within the luxury wedding and events sector has also been part of a team winning multiple gold medals when competing at RHS Tatton show. Teaching a range of ages and abilities over the past 15 years, Gema ensures students gain the practical skills and confidence needed to excel.
Students are actively encouraged to participate in the wider floristry industry, from competitions and exhibitions to work experience, to develop the essential skills needed for a successful career.
Tameside College currently offers level one and level two Floristry, with level 3 floristry launching in September 2026. This is alongside a range of adult short courses designed to suit all skill levels and interests.
