Glasgow Clyde College (GCC) is one of the largest further education institutions in Scotland.  Situated in the thriving city of Glasgow, the multi-campus college has long been established as the leading provider of certificated floristry courses in the West of Scotland.

Over the past 25 years, the college’s Floristry and Horticulture department has expanded, with a wide array courses on offer.  GCC students can benefit from the fantastic new Horticulture Centre of Excellence which opened in 2017 at Langside Campus, this facility boasts state-of-the-art classrooms and substantial planting facilities.

Full-time courses currently on offer:

City & Guilds Technical Certificate in Floristry (Level 2) – 1 Year

This runs over one year, three days per week in college plus industrial experience commitment.

  • Principles of design
  • Working in industry placement evidence

Part-time course currently on offer:

City & Guilds Certificate Floristry – Beginners (Level 1) – 1 Year Evening and Day Provision 

  • Safe & effective practices in land-based industries
  • Identify flowers, foliage and plants 
  • Carryout basic floristry tasks
  • Assemble basic floral designs 

City & Guilds Award Floristry – Beginners (Level 1) – 12 Week Day or 18 Week Evening

  • Identify flowers, foliage and plants 
  • Assemble basic floral designs 

Technical Certificate in Floristry – 2 Years

This will run on a part-time basis one day per week over two years.

Year 2 

  • Working in the floristry industry (continued)
  • Customer service

  • Synoptic assessment
