The Institute of Professional Florists

The BFA created the IPF through our Training and Education group, which is headed up by Jo Biddle and Rebecca Hough.

The training and education group is made up of tutors from all over the UK and employers who meet and talk regularly to ensure qualifications meet the employers needs and serve the training florist well. We want all florists to be proud professionals and leave education with the exceptional skills they need to join the workforce.

The Institute of Professional Florists has individual florists as its members and the levels of membership depend on the level of qualification a florist has or the portfolio they submit for review (if no formal qualification has been gained)

After joining the IPF all members are expected to continually professionally develop by attending various industry events, workshops and activities which keep them up to date and relevant to the current industry. Traditional and modern skills, techniques, trends, design ideas and mechanics are all important to our membership.

The aim of the IPF to create a community for the individual florist, give employers an easy way to identify qualified and skilled florists and elevate the professionalism of the working florist.

IPF members enjoy member benefits and have access to members area on the BFA website as well as the Skills Plus manager website, which is where our IPF members record and manage their CPD records.
