British Flowers Week 2020 runs from Monday 15th June to Sunday 21st June.
New Covent Garden Flower Market started British Flower Week in 2013, it’s an annual celebration of the wealth and variety of British cut flowers and foliage.
The focus is about shining the spotlight on British flowers, working with independent florists and the wider flower industry to show what we are made of.
The aims are:
- Showcase great British flowers through great British floristry
- Raise awareness of which British flowers are in season and when
- Encourage the public to buy more British flowers
What a great opportunity to promote British flowers and your business, especially as many of you are re opening!… The beauty of this year is that even if you are not back to work, you can still take join in.
How can we take part in 2020?……The British Flowers Week Windows Campaign!
Fill Your windows with flowers! Check out the New Covent Garden Market online toolkit for plenty of ideas and resources. Everything from where to buy British flowers to images you can use to promote the week. You’ll also find information you can relate to your customers so they can get involved too!
Show your support by creating British Flowers Week Windows, or arrangements, in your home or places of work; preferably where passers-by can enjoy them. Lets get flowers seen all over the place!
It can be as simple as a single stem, a handpicked bunch, a drawing or a huge display… anything you like!.
How to enter the competition
Take a photo of your window and put it on social media using #britishflowersweek and @marketflowers to be automatically entered into a competition. Designs will be reposted and shared throughout the week by New Covent Garden Market, giving the overall campaign loads of coverage. You can win awesome British flower themed prizes so why not have a go. Categories include; adults, children, florists as well as other businesses and It’s all to be judged by Rauri from Pinstripes & Peonies.
This is an all inclusive campaign you can take part is as a florist, grower or wholesaler, and encourage the public to have a go too using garden materials or even just a favourite house plant, show off your most colourful displays!
No matter how big or small, everyone can get involved! What a great idea.
