The BFA are once again proud to be the organising partner for the WorldSkills UK floristry competition. Throughout the summer heats were held across the country and the highest marks from those heats were achieved by our fabulous finalists.
Our finalists all have under 5 years industry experience.
Our Heats this year were sponsored by Direct2florist and we’d like to thank them for their continued industry support and passion in championing the skills of our future florists.
Where are the finals? Can I attend?
Date: 15th and 16th November 2023
Time: Wednesday 15th, Live competing starts at 11.30am. Thursday 16th, Live competing starts at 10am.
Location: Trafford College, Manchester Rd, West Timperley, Timperley, Altrincham WA14 5PQ
Everyone is welcome to attend the finals whether you are just interested in seeing amazing flowers, are an employer keeping your eye on enthusiastic skilled florists of the future or perhaps are considering a career in floristry yourself. What will happen?
The competitors will be in open booths and completing live tasks, some they already know about and others which will be a surprise. They will be showcasing their skill to make designs with both material and time constraints. Everything they make will be on show for visitors to see after they have been judged by the UK Floristry Judges Guild.
Wednesday 15th November
The competitors will spend the morning sorting, conditioning and deciding which flowers to use in the tasks they know are coming up.

Thursday 16th November
10am-12pm Task 3
TASK-3-Final-2023Both task 4 and 5 are the surprise element of the competition. The competitors will not know the task or the flower content until the task begins.
1pm-2.45pm Task 4
3pm-4.45pm Task 5
Friday 17th November
The BFA and competitors will be attending the medal ceremony held at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester city centre along with other skills competition areas. Simon Stirling from Direct2florist will be presenting our medal winners and we can’t wait to celebrate and congratulate their achievements!
