Price From Your Own Costs, Not The Shop Down The Road
It is tempting to set your prices by the florist a town over. However, they might pay half what you pay, or twice as much, and run one van where you run two. They might have a partner working the counter for nothing, or a van that was paid off years ago. Their prices tell you very little about what your shop needs to charge to stay open.
These calculators work from your figures instead: your wholesale stems, your sundries, your labour, your fuel, rent and power. You put your real figures in, and they show you what you need to markup or charge to come out ahead.

1. Arrangement Calculator
The free Arrangement Calculator works out what an arrangement costs to make and what to charge for it. Build it up from your flowers, foliage and sundries, add your labour, and it shows the cost to make and a sensible selling price.
You build the recipe, it adds up the cost, and you see the margin before you put it on your website or quote your customer.

2. Delivery Profitability Calculator
Delivery is where profit tends to leak without anyone noticing. This calculator works out the true cost of a delivery once you count fuel, driver wages, wear on the van and a fair share of your overheads. From there it gives you a break-even delivery fee.
From here you can see how many drops you need to do per run to make your current delivery free breakeven.
It might be that you need to add a same day delivery charge to discourage runs going out with just 1 or 2 drops.

3. Operating Cost Calculator
Before you can know what to mark up your flowers, you need to know what the shop costs to open. The Operating Cost Calculator totals your monthly or yearly overheads: rent, utilities, staffing, the van, sundries and the rest. You then use this figure with our markup calculator to work out what you need to be marking up your flowers.

4. Business Markup Calculator
The Business Markup Calculator answers the question how much I should I mark up my flowers?
It uses your operating costs; how much you usually spend on flowers and more importantly how much you want to make this year to give you 3 markup options.
You can also use it in reverse by telling it what you are currently are marking up and it will tell you how much profit you will make with your costs.

Common Questions
Is Florist Toolbox free to use? Yes, in part. Eight tools are free for any florist with no card, including the Arrangement Calculator, with 100 saved arrangements and 15 AI requests a week. Three further business calculators that are normally part of the paid Plus plan, are included free with your BFA membership, along with higher account limits.
What do BFA members get on top? The Delivery Profitability, Operating Cost and Business Markup calculators, and higher limits of 250 saved arrangements and 50 AI requests a week. All free with your membership.
Does my membership give me access to all Florist toolbox Calculators? There are other tools and calculators available on Florist Toolbox Plus which you can subscribe to for £10 a month or £60 a year – available to peruse with a 7-day free trial.
Do I need a card to sign up? No. The free tools and the BFA member calculators do not ask for card details.
