We’re incredibly sad to share that Joseph Massie, the UK’s representative at this year’s World Cup Floral Art 2025, is unable to compete due to illness. Joseph was taken into hospital this week and while we’re pleased to say he is now recovering, he has been advised not to compete and rest fully.
This news comes as a huge disappointment both to Joseph and to all those who have supported him on his journey to the world stage. After months of dedicated training, preparation and planning, it’s understandably devastating for Joseph to miss the chance to be part of this once in a lifetime event.
Jo Biddle, Joseph’s training manager and the BFA’s Director of Training & Education, shared:
“While Joseph and the team are devastated that he is not competing we are all so incredibly proud of his hard work, vision and commitment throughout this journey.”
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Florismart, Joseph’s sponsor, for their understanding and unwavering support.
The British Florist Association team is still out in The Hague and will be there to cheer on the incredible talent taking part. We know it will be a spectacular event and we send our very best wishes to all the designers competing.
