Interflora launch new competitions!

PRESS RELEASE: September 2021

We’re launching our search for the next Interflora Florist of the Year and it could be you!

Interflora

We’re really excited to be back with our Florist of the Year competition, and even more excited to announce that Interflora British Unit will be the host for the next Interflora World Cup in 2023. That means that whoever wins our UK competition will represent the UK and Ireland in a home World Cup.

Interflora

We know that competing isn’t for everyone but we’re really hoping that we can persuade many more of you to give it a go by doing things a little differently this time around. To start with, we’re working with the UK Floristry Judges Guild to run some free workshops, designed to take the fear out of competing. This two-hour workshop will take you through the key aspects of competition floristry, from where to get your inspiration and how to interpret a schedule to understanding the judging and marking processes and how to take high quality photographs of your work. You don’t have to attend this workshop to be able to enter our competition, but we believe it will really help.

The competition workshops will be held here:

Sunday 17th Oct – AM & PM sessions at Worsley Park Marriott Hotel, Manchester

Sunday 24th Oct – AM & PM sessions at The Floristry School, Sheffield

Each two-hour workshop is limited to 30 people, so book early to secure your place by emailing bloom@interflora.co.uk by Friday 24th September.

Florist of the Year Competition 2022

The Florist of the Year competition itself will run from 1st November 2021 to 31st January 2022 and entry for the heats will be by photograph for the first time. There will be three separate schedules, each designed to test your creativity and technical floristry ability.

Competitors achieving the required standard will then go forward to a semi-final in April 2022, followed by the grand final of the Interflora Florist of the Year competition in July 2022. As well as a £1000 prize for our Florist of the Year winner, every finalist will receive a bespoke social media marketing pack to promote their business and achievements locally.

There’s certainly a lot to get excited about and we’d love as many of you as possible to get involved. Watch out for more details on how to enter our Florist of the Year competition coming soon and don’t forget to book a place on our workshop if you can.
